Make sure that it is mixed up VERY well!
Then.. go ahead and cook that meat!
Make sure its good and brown and drain it!
Then pour your spaghetti sauce over it!
Take a few slices of your butter and put them in the bottom of your casserole dish,
Then layer HALF of the noodles in the bottom of the dish!
and SPREAAAAAD it all over!
Then add the rest of your noodles and put a few slices of butter on top of those noodles.
Now pour the red sauce and meat on top!

haha is it bad if i have to come to your blog to find mine?? haha!! i just forget the http address thing
I still make million dollar spaghetti because it is soo good!
I found you via Pinterest. This looks SOOOO yummy, but I have a question. I have an unnatural fear of cottage cheese...could I use ricotta instead or is the cottage cheese necessary? thanks!!!!
I just made this. Holy crap, it's so freaking delicious.
Found your blog on Pinterest. Made the Million Dollar Spaghetti last night....AMAZING....eating left overs for lunch today. The only thing I did differently, was when I drained the water off the noodles - I tossed them in italian dressing. Fantastic recipe!
I just made the Million Dollar Spaghetti for dinner for my husband and I, and it was very delicious!! I was a little skeptical about the cottage cheese, but it was love at first taste! I didn't have any spaghetti, so used whole grain wheat fettucine noodles instead. I can't wait to try it using the spaghetti noodles next time. I'm putting this in my recipe box right now!!
I also found your recipe on Pinterest. Thank you for sharing your recipe!
Made this tonight and added chopped mushrooms in with the sauce. Your recipe is a winner, thanks so much!
I made this tonight with Ricotta instead of the cottage cheese and it was AMAZING. My 2-year old who doesn't eat much had 2 bowls. We both loved it, thanks for sharing :)
Made this for dinner tonight and it was AMAZING!!! I even used fat free sour cream, and low fat cottage cheese, cream cheese, and cheese! Thanks for sharing this delish meal!

I made this for dinner last night. It was really good. Thanks for sharing with us!!!
I too just found this on pinterest and this looks YUMMY! Have you ever made this ahead & froze it?
Cooked this last night and it was YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the great recipe!
Found this on Pinterest and am making it this weekend. I'm curious... when you say a "bag" of shredded sharp cheddar cheese, what size? 2 cup, I would assume? Thanks!
Is the butter really necessary? Not judging, just curious

Yum! I'm gonna make this tonight and throw in some meatballs on top! My husband swears he doesn't like "canned" spaghetti sauce - but this may change his mind!!!
I made this tonight for a small dinner party and it was a big hit! In regards to the butter question above, I somehow let my fridge run out of butter & only had a little less than half a stick left. I sprayed the dish with Pam, and split the butter between the layers. I can't compare it to what it would've been like if I had used a whole stick, but it was delicious regardless!
I made this tonight and everyone in the family loved it! Thanks for sharing on pinterest.
SO YUMMY! Had an unexpected guest show up just as this came out of the oven and they ended up staying for seconds!
I made this over the weekend. Didn't change it up at all! Delicious.
How could this be anything but delish! Rich and caloric too?
Yes!
Thanks....
Shelley
This is the BEST!!! Found it on pinterest and now it's one of our staples :) love it love it love it!! Thanks so much!
This looks fanatastic! I am wondering why cheddar when usually you see a white italian cheese with these type of recipes. I suppose you could use either. Cheddar sounds very interesting for a change.
found you on pinterest..this looks great as well as very cost effective..sort of a "poor mans lasagna"..definitely going in my recipe box!!!
Found this on pinterest, OMG so delicious I made it for my family last night and they loved it, definitely in my top favorite meals now!
I made this tonight. I loved it, but my husband and kids said they'd rather have regular old spaghetti. I quess I'll eat the other 2/3's of the pan and gain 10 lbs.
Anyone know the instructions for if you are reheating leftovers? Thanks!
I made this tonight and it was absolutely delicious! I was apprehensive to put Sharp cheddar cheese on it as I thought mozzarella would have been more appropriate - I'm glad I was wrong! This is a keeper recipe - LOVED it! I found you on Pinterest, BTW. THanks for the recipe!
I made it. It is ok. I would add less of the cream mixture and maybe the spaguetti sauce in both layers. But good Idea. Thanks fOr the recipe
I made this for suppuer and i must say it was very good. I would recommend using more noodles i used 12oz but seemed like i could have used more. and for my sauce i just made it the way i normally make it with everything in it and it was absolutely delicious. Thanks for sharing!
I made this for dinner last night and it was great ! I tried to healthy it up a bit by using 1/2 the amount of butter lean ground beef ,veggie noodles, fat free cottage cheese, fat free spur cream and reduced fat cream cheese .I also only used about 2/3 the bag of cheddar on top ,which I felt was plenty . One other slight change that I made was to add garlic power and Italian seasoning to the sour cream/cottage cheese mixture to add a tad more flavor . This recipe is defiantly a keeper :-)
For dinner tonight I made this recipe. Actually I made 2 of this recipe, one to eat and one in the freezer for later. I only made it because of all the positive comments. I must say that it is a HIT, so delicious and tummy filling. Thanks so much for sharing it. Oh and BTW, you have a gorgeous baby girl :)
Made this tonight. Everybody loved it . This is one I sm happy I tried.
Absolutely delicious! Added mushrooms to the sauce and used whole wheat linguini. Also used mostly lowfat/nonfat items - cottage cheese, sour cream, cream cheese. Delicious. My 15 mo. old licked her plate clean and plenty of leftovers!
So your amazing million dollar spaghetti is super famous now among my girlfriends and I! Thank you for this easy and wonderful twist to a meal my family was bored of and wouldn't eat...now they ask for it every week!
found this on pinterest the other day!!! trying it tonight! thanks for posting! i've tried a few different ways to make a baked spaghetti- but had never tried cream cheese and cottage cheese! can't wait to dig in!
You and me both girl!
I made this two nights ago for my family. They are STILL raving about it!! My hubby said, "Add this to the list of awesome recipes!" Next time I need to make two pans of it -- for more leftovers!! Thanks for sharing this. Love it.
I hate cottage cheese it grosses me out, however I went a head and used it and thought my family could eat this I may taste it but doubt it. I tasted it because if my 3 tear old and hello its ahmazing!! You can not taste the cottage cheese. I've never made regular spaghetti since!!!
This was such a hit for three generations at the supper table. Granddad, Grandmom, aunt, dad, girl and baby ate it with unbridled abandon.
For others who might be afraid of that much butter:
I lined my pan with parchment paper & misted olive oil instead of that much butter (I bake with it enough in cookies & cakes!) I also added one egg into the cheese mix to add a little body like lasagna layers.
Do you think this dish will freeze well? I am thinking of adding this dish to my once a month cooking menu. I want to just prep, freeze, then thaw and put in the oven just before meal time.
I'm making this tonight but using all fat free ingredients, whole wheat pasta, and organic cottage cheese...hope it doesn't taste weird?!
Delish! I fell in love at "cream cheese". I made it last week and then twice again over the weekend for our football get together. My uncle has literally said that next time I make the dish, I need to bring it in (2) standard sized aluminum pans. LOL!!! It was a hit. This receipe is decinitly a keeper and I can't help it but share. Thank you!
I made this tonight for my boyfriend and friends. Everyone loved it! Such an easy and delicious recipe! Thanks for sharing!!
Butter has many nutrients your body needs
So I'm making this now.. Well I had everything looking perfect I mixed the sour cream and cottage cheese.. And put it on the noodles put the butter on top then the meat well I go to clean up and realize I forgot the cream cheese.... So I just spent 20 dollars on getting everything I wasn't going to throw it away.. So I go back take meet noodles off had cream cheese put everything back on.. But the noodles and meat is mixed now!!!:( I hope it comes out good!!!! Will it come out good?? Or did I mess up bugg time????
Omgosh this is sooo awesome just got done having it for supper. Wow!
Thanks for the recipe...I changed it up a bit and used whole pasta and ground turkey. Was skeptical of the cheddar cheese...but glad I did it. Love finding new recipes to add to the rotation!
I must admit that I almost lost my appetite when I had to dump in the cottage cheese as it scares me lol. You can't taste the cottage cheese at all:) Thanks for this recipe. It is delicious and my whole family loves it!!!
Making this now, can't wait to try it!!!
Just got done putting it in the oven! Can't wait to try it!
Sooooo yummy.... Tastes just like lasagna
You forgot to give your mom credit for this absolutely fabulous recipe!!! It's one of my favorite recipes to impress dinner guests. Everyone always goes back for seconds!!
:P
Looks delicious! Can't wait to try it!
This is so easy and delicious! If you are thinking about making this..Do! A family favorite!
Made this for dinner tonight and it was awesome!!! My boyfriend had three helpings, thats how good it was!
I used ricotta instead of cottage cheese. Other then to ask what it was my boyfriend didn't stop eating to be able to even talk to me at dinner and went back for seconds. Can't wait to eat the leftovers.
I just found this last week. Im going hone to cook it now!!!!! Thank u!!!
Low carb version with spaghetti squash, also deeelish.
OMG! Just made this dish and it was beyond delicious. So easy to make and fun too. The instructions were so easy to follow and it made my husband and I very happy. Can't wait to show it off to others. Thanks again and I can't wait to see your next great recipe.

Trying this tonight!
Made this last night but subbed spaghetti squash for the pasta and used turkey sausage instead of ground beef. It was yummy!
OK...this is BY FAR the best recipe I have ever found. Unbelievable! Now my husband doesn't mind all the time I spend on Pintrest! HA HA!! Thank you so much!
We loved it! Thanks for the recipe ;)
I'm with you. My family and I were not that impressed....it was ok. It needs more sauce, but it seemed like it was missing something else.
I'm with you. My family and I were not that impressed....it was ok. It needs more sauce, but it seemed like it was missing something else.
I made it twice already! I skipped the butter, used Pam cooking spray on bottom, fat free cream cheese, Greek yogurt, 2% cottage cheese, whole wheat noodles, added onions to the beef, sprayed I can't believe it isn't butter before the sauce and 2% cheese on top! All my poker players loved it! Thanks!
Yummy. Thanks for sharing.
butter makes the sauce flavor sit longer on your tongue!
Sounds delish! I'm trying it for my family tonight. Thanks for sharing.
I so wanna make this!
Do not use cheap cheese, that is usually the problem with those who complain that they don't like a certain recipe.
I had to try this because of all the great reviews... and I'm happy to see it did not disappoint. It was truly easy to make and got rave reviews from my family. Will definitely make it again! Renee B.
Got a nutrition & fat count for this yummy thing?
Agreed! Happens to me every single time i pinch cheese pennies. Gravely disappointed.
Thx for giving alternatives! Any idea fat count?
this recipe was pretty good except the fact that I used the pasta sauce shown (Ragu Traditional) when it is not my normal pasta sauce. It brought the whole recipe down, as it is a very bland "blah" pasta sauce. To others who are considering making this" be sure to use your FAVE pasta sauce. Other than that, it was pretty good. I give it an 86 out of 100 (with 100 being the best). I am sure it will be better next time when I use a different sauce and spruce it up a little. Thanks for a good base recipe to start from though! Pretty good!
I made it for the first time. It was good. Family seemed to like it.
I made this tonight for dinner and everyone really loved it! I did double the noodles. And added seasoning to the sause like I always do. So good!!
Making this now, it smells so good !! I used Ricotta cheese instead of cottage cheese, but I know its gonna be great. Also I only used half a stick of butter : )
made this for my hubby and I lastnight, it was delicious! definitely going in the recipe book
This was my ovens last meal. It went crazy and tries to self clean itself while I was making this. But this was the best spaghetti ever! My husband loved it! As soon as I get a new stove I'm making the the first night!
try adding green onions to the sour cream mixture, even better!!!!
Yummy! Like others, I was a cheese snob and turned my nose up at the cheddar and used mozzarella instead. Here's what I'd change next time. More sauce, and added garlic to the sauce. I may even go crazy and use the cheddar. Thanks for a yummy and simple dinner!
i'm in ireland and i want to try this recipe but dont know how much butter is in a stick.. .. anyone????
This sounds soooo good! I will definitely try it! I wonder if it could be cooked in a crockpot to take to a church potluck? Seems like you could just layer it in the pot following the directions and cook til hot and then keep it on warm!! I can hardly wait!!!
Made this for dinner tonight and it was absolutely delicious!!! The cream cheese, sour cream, cottage cheese mixture makes the dish!!
Planning next week's menu right now and this is definitely going on the menu. Taking others suggestions I am gonna cut down on some of the fat by using fat free or reduced fat items and I think I'll only use half a stick of butter instead. I'm gonna add diced tomatoes, bell peppers, onions and garlic to the meat to bump up the veggies and flavor. Also planning to serve with a green salad!! Can't wait to serve this to my family :)
1/2 cup, I believe. :)
I make something very similar to this, and it is so yummy. The only difference is that I use cream cheese mixed with cream of mushroom soup and then I sprinkle the top with cheese. I prefer it over regular spaghetti any day, but unfortunately my husband does not and neither of my girls like spaghetti. I look forward to trying out your version soon :)
4 ounces
Made this for my family....TOTAL HIT!!!! Everyone loved it and it was easy to make! Thank you for this wonderful recipe!
Has anyone cared to look at the caloric content of this recipe??! OMG! It MUST be delicious at nearly 10,000 calories for the pan! That's over 1,000 calories for a 1/8th serving.
No wonder why America is so huge!
To the above anon concerned about caloric content.
1) Why are you viewing recipes about pasta with cheese if you are concerned about calories? Not too bright to do that.
2) Your math is wrong. And what brand/type of product people pick up will make quite a difference in the end result of caloric content here.
I made this for my family tonight and they absolutely LOVED it!!! Even my 4 year old picky eater! Thank you so much for sharing this delicious recipe!
I just fixed this. I couldn't bring myself to add all that butter, so I just sliced up 1 Tbsp to the middle layer and it tasted fine. I used low fat sour cream, but next time I will try low fat everything. Also, 8 oz. of noodles is pretty sparse for this much sauce. Next time I'll bump it up to 12 oz. My kids really liked it. It's so rich that I feel a little funny in my stomach, lol, but it was good ;) P.S. I used my favorite sauce, Prego fresh mushroom.
Those who are afraid of the cottage cheese, I throw mine in the blender so my kids don't even know, just don't understand why all the butter, more noodles would be better.
I have never been one to come back to a recipe I found online and rate it. But this is the best spaghetti I've ever made. Delicious does not even describe it. I've been talking about it since I tried it a couple days ago and have been sharing it with other people and everyone has said it is sooooo gooood!
With a house full of finicky eaters I thought I would have complaints from this spaghetti (like I get from every other meal) but everyone LOVED it. Thank you! Found you on Pinterest.
I am making this today with a few changes of my own. I amusing the cream cheese tomato basil flavored instead of the plain cream cheese. Also, substituted ricotta cheese for the cottage cheese. Soooo easy to ensemble. I have a family reunion in a couple of weeks and this will probably be the dish I take!!!!!!
Can I make this tonight and bake tomorrow?
definitely delish! My hubby loved it and said that he never wants the regular kind again! :)
Made this tonight for dinner and it was delicious! I did make some changes to reduce the fat/calorie count- I used ground chicken instead of beef, fat free cream cheese, fat free cottage cheese, and fat free sour cream (although, I'd have preferred to use FF Greek yogurt, I had the sour cream on hand), high fiber pasta, and reduced fat shredded cheese. I cut out the butter completely and used an olive oil mist instead and reduced the shredded cheese to 1 cup. It was still fabulous!
Next time I make it I'd like to add some sautéed veggies (mushrooms, peppers, onion, garlic) to the sauce/meat.
Just made this and it was good. I added seasoning to the cheese mixture as well as subbing out cottage cheese for Ricotta cheese. In the sauce, I added sliced mushrooms, zucchini, diced onions, garlic, and ground turkey. For the topping, I did half with the sharp cheddar and half with a mixture of parm and mozarella.
Making this for dinner TONIGHT! Sounds amazing!!!
You know how it is... Somebody has to complain no matter what!!
I did last week. It come out really yummy!
Thanks for sharing recipe. I added Italian seasoning and a little garlic salt. Next time will try with Italian sausage instead of hamburger for a little more flavor.
Made this for dinner tonight & it was delicious !!!! The entire family loved it!!!!
Made this for dinner tonight & it was delicious !!!! The entire family loved it!!!!
Did I miss how many it's suppose to serve?
This was out of this world!!!!! I will never make "regular" spaghetti" again!!!!
Do u think I could cook this in the crockpot???
I made this tonight. My husband usually eats quite a bit but barely touched this. He said it was too rich and had too many things that don't belong lol he thinks the sour cream should be omitted.
My daughter said it tastes weird and only ate a couple bites. I thought it tasted ok but now we have a ton of left over.
Butter has no nutrients that your body needs. Lol it just tastes good!! I'm sure you can use less than a whole stick and jt would be fine. Or a butter substitute
I've always made this recipe using mozzerella on top and it always turns out awesome and when I serve it I have shake cheese for people to use if wanted
saw on pintrest today, made it, i love spaghetti. it was good...but i wouldnt say a million dollar spaghetti.
Made this but made my regular sauce with peppers mushrooms n onions instead of just using a regular jar....also used a 5 blend Italian cheese on top bc I didn't have just cheddar.....this was amazing....I am going to make it again Tom bc I made to much sauce...everyone loves it my fiance, my 20 month old son, my mother in law even called to ask for more!!! Excellent recipe!! :)
In the oven right now, can't wait to try it!
This was so so good! My husband is hard to please and on a scale of 1 being not so good and 10 being the best thing ever...He rated this recipe as a 10! I agree it is Delicious!!!!
found this recipe on pinterest, absolutely fabulous! I substituted sweet italian sausage for the hamburger, and spaghetti squash for the spaghetti and it was TO DIE FOR. :)
My husband didn't have time to eat this last night when I made so I sent it with him to work today. He actually texted me "this spaghetti is really good" which he never does! Such a good recipe!
I made this today for dinner and my family loves it! My grandmother is the pickiest eater ever and she loved it! I forgot cottage cheese but I don't like it anyway and substituted it with parmasen cheese and added fresh minced onion and garlic with the cream cheese and sour cream mixture. We now have a new favorite dish to add to our favorites!
I made this today! I did make some substitutions. I used plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream, mainly because my husband wouldn't touch anything with sour cream in it. He doesn't care for cream cheese, so I used less of that than called for. I did use low fat everything and whole wheat noodles as well. I didn't have cheddar so I used a 6 cheese Italian blend. It was great. Kind of reminded me of lasagna.
Not sure what I was expecting, but was very disappointed.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, you don't have to be rude about it. It might taste great, but you would have to modify a lot of the original recipe to make it even slightly healthy.
Personally, I can make pasta with cheese that doesn't contain a full day's worth of calories in one serve. It's not hard. :) having said that, food like this is delicious in small doses and I can't wait to give it a try this week!
I've made this using a bag of medium shell pasta. The kids call it Shell Lasagna and they love it! I've never used cottage cheese, though, so I am looking forward to trying it a new way! Thanks for sharing!
I just had to laugh about all the "disappointed" blogger comments. Really? You had left overs? It was just an OK meal? Waaaaah. Come on, this dish is freaking awesome. Deal with the calories and let yourself like it.
Thanks for the recipe!

I'm planning on making this on Tuesday, and I was wondering about how many servings does this make??
Do you think it will serve at least 6 girls (hopefully 7?)
I made this last night, but left out the cheddar cheese, and added parmesan cheese and meatballs! It was fantastically yummy! :)
I made this tonight. Yummy! My husband and son loved it. I loved the recipe as is, but I will experiment with it too. Thank you so much!
Delicious!!!
I used low-free cottage cheese & cream cheese, fat-free sour cream, and wheat pasta....same delicious taste with less calories and fat.
Family LOVES it!
This recipe is along the same lines as the spaghetti my grandma made for us growing up. I'm going to lighten up the recipe (like other followers) and post my results later - Thanks for reminding me of this delicious meal!

Homemade Goodness
I am making this tonight for the second time now ;) just wanted to say my family loved it & thanks for sharing the recipe. :))
I made this again tonight for dinner and it was a hit. It is so easy to make also! This time I added some mild Italian sausage. Great recipe and one that I will be making regularly for my family!
This is the most amazing spaghetti I've ever had! I made it last night for my whole family and they all loved it! This is definitely a keeper in my recipe book!:-)
I made this with spaghetti squash and ricotta instead of the cottage cheese. I used low fat sour cream and cream cheese, and added in some spices in the cheese mixture. Then I divided it into small, wide mouth jars and baked it. From there, I can serve as many as I need and toss the rest in the freezer. I haven't had one reheated yet, but pasta dishes typically freeze well for me.
I am sure this is delicious but do you honestly need a stick of butter in this... I calculated out the nutrition for this and it is unreal. If you made this for 6 people it would equal out to this:
Calories: 862
Carbs: 49
Fat: 56
Protein: 29
Fiber: 5
Sodium: 1364
sooooo yummy! saw this once, thought i pinned but didnt...found it again, tried it and was so worth the search :) thanks so much for sharing!!
8 oz of noodles seems off. No company sells an 8 oz container of dried spaghetti. Should it be 12 oz or 16 oz? Even the pic in this post shows a 12 oz container... ???
I found this recipe on Pinterest and made it tonight for my family. The only adjustment I made was using three cheese pasta sauce instead of spaghetti sauce (because it's the only kind I had in the pantry!) It was delicious! My 2 year old liked it too!
I made this to taste good. I used "real" everything and did not skimp. Great stuff...if you actually let yourself enjoy things, that is.
I made this exactly by the recipe even though I was tempted to put more noodles and less butter. The sauce I used was Bertolli Marinara with Burgundy Wine. It came out great. I wouldn't change a thing. It was very rich and delicious.
I also made a second one omitting the meat. I did put less butter in that one. Next time, I'll add a bit more noodles or maybe some veggies to make up for the absence of meat. It was a little too cheesy (if that's possible) but very delicious.
And this is why obesity is rampant in the US
Made this tonight for dinner ..it was delicious !
In the oven as I type!!!
I did the math for those who have asked. I used the exact same brands as the blogger, except for the cheese which I didn't see specified. The total caloric count is 4,736. Total fat count is 295. :)
We call this Spaghetti Pie. I chop up the cooked spaghetti and toss in bowl with small amount lite butter and 1/2 cup parmesan cheese. Also layer turkey pepperoni on top. My kids have loved this for years. When my son was home on leave from Iraq that is the one dish he had me make for him. I always made it with angel hair spaghetti. It freezes very well. Our boy was killed in action 2 months after his leave. I couldn't make spaghetti pie for a few years. Then my daughter asked for it. It was bitter sweet making it again. Now I find good memories associated with spaghetti pie.
This recipe has so much fat! I'm sure it is good but the calorie count and saturated fat makes this a very unhealthy recipe.
Just so everyone knows, FAT-FREE AND LOW-FAT items are NOT healthy choices for replacements in this meal. They are full of chemicals to replace the fat. Regular sour cream is milk and enzyme, turn over a tub of low-fat sour cream and read! :)
I've done something similar with ricotta cheese, but I need to try this with the butter!

Just made this for supper tonight and it was awesome! Will surely make it again! Thanks for the recipe!
I may have just missed this info along the way but does this amount go in a 8x8 or a 9x13 pan?
Going to make it tonight!
Delicious I am making the recipe right now. My entire family loves it! Thank you for the recipe.
Made this tonight and was not impressed like everyone else... I mean, it was ok I just may not ever make it again without really doctoring it up. Maybe onions, green peppers, garlic in the sauce and a little salt. It was bland to me.
I used a 9x13 because thats what it looks like she used in the pictures and that sized worked well.
I was too...
Made this tonight. It is FABULOUS! I will definitely be making this again.
I made this tonight. It was FABULOUS. I added garlic and onion when I was browning the meat. I will definitely make this again.
I am surprised at the amount of positive feedback on this recipe. I do cook from scratch all the time, I followed the recipe without any changes. I was so disappointed with this dish! Way too much sauce and overly rich, and not enough noodles. Sorry to be a downer, but I got caught up in all the fantastic reviews.I just do not understand how this is a winner :'( Sorry.
I made this tonight for my two kids. They LOVED it. I used light cream cheese and sour cream and 1% cottage cheese. I added garlic powder and a bit of salt to the cheese mixture. I didn't use any butter at all but I tossed the pasta in a bit of olive oil. I only used a marinara sauce (no meat) and topped with a combo if mozzarella and cheddar. I did use 3/4 of a box of spaghetti and this left me with leftovers for a while but the kids are happy about that :) super easy and yummy! Even the lightened up version!! Thanks!
Made in lasagna form to fool my husband from a "new" recipe, he loved it! Had two servings and asked me to save it as leftovers, he NEVER eats leftovers, so I thank you very much!!:)
My husband Hates Spaghetti, did I mention he Hates it!! I made this before he came home, when he seen it on his plate he refused to eat it, I asked him to try it , just like we ask our kids to try it. So he did, he ate 2 plates full and has asked me to make it again.
This recipe does look rich and delish. Just a note to the blogger though, if you cut down on your exclamation points, when you do use them you will have more impact.
Made this for my community group tonight and it was a hit! Yay!!
This was absolutely delicious! I made it for my family tonight! I've got to say I am impressed! I have my famous spaghetti sauce (takes all day to cook and is really time consuming) and I have never liked any form of spaghetti since I've made this sauce!!! This will def be added to our monthly meals! Something quick and easy - especially compared to my sauce that I like to make!
I noticed the first time I made it, it needed a lot more noodles. And I absolutely hate cottage cheese but I went ahead and used it and I was so surprised! It was so good and I have really picky eaters. Making it again right now but this time I'm using Ricotta to change it up. We love this recipe and it has made it into our weekly menu and that hardly ever happens!
Just here to give an honest review; not complain. I was really excited to make this and invited the family over to eat it with us. I was incredibly disappointed when I put the first bite into my mouth. :( I followed the recipe to a "t" but did use my favorite sauce as so many other reviewers suggested. When I saw that some people thought it was too rich, I was actually excited, as I LOVE rich foods. This was bland and boring. My spaghetti will definitely be on our plates the next time; I won't be making this again. We're still eating the massive amount left over after 5 people ate it for dinner last night because we feel badly wasting that much food. I'm glad so many people love it, but it was a no-go for us.
I have to agree, only I thought it was SUPER bland lol. I'd eat it before I starved, but not until then.
I couldn't put my finger on what was wrong with it, but you nailed it. Too much of the creamy cheese stuff. WAY too much.
I made this tonight and it was FANTASTIC. I added onions and garlic to the meat along with the White Linen Collection marinara sauce found at Costco. I also swapped the sharp chedder cheese for mozarella. My picky kids ate this with no complaints (what's not to love when you have tons of cheese in the recipe). A great staple to make for guests staying over.
The recipe both look and sound delicious!
I so love this recipe! This is my go-to recipe when company is coming over. Super easy and super yummy. I did a few substitutions (just used my favorite sauce, added ricotta, greek yogurt instead of sour cream, 2% cottage cheese, and less fat cream cheese) plus I added more noodles, my dish is almost overflowing but it turns out perfect every time! Thank you so much for this, I love it!
I think the butter could be left out...and I would for sure use fat free cheese, greek yogurt and cream cheese...you know, to avoid a heart attack...with all of that being said, I do plan to try the recipe...the lighter version anyways!
No seasonings?
My 3 and 5 yr olds LOVE this receipe--I used a whole box of angel hair last time I made it and put italian spices in the cottage cheese/cream cheese mix and made 2 layers--I think the angel hair worked better--for anyone complaining of not enough noodles or dry--BUT either way this is a keeper for are little family--Thanks for sharing!
Used Italian Sausage instead of ground beef and ricotta instead of cottage cheese with the addition of chopped garlic to the cheese spread. Nice recipe. It went over well and it something fun that I will use for family gatherings. After it sets a minute, you can cut it like lasgna.
Cheers!
THIS HAS NO FLAVOR what so ever...
Wow! This is so good! I was hesitant, but definitely use the sharp cheddar. Next time I will add a layer of chopped spinach to make myself feel better about a veggie.
Thank you for such a great recipe!!
I have made this 3 times since pinning! The only thing i changed is that i use two jars of spaghetti sauce. It is delicious. Actually, its even better as leftovers the next day!!!! Yummy!!!!!
We loved this when we made it a couple weeks a
go with one granddaughter, tonight we will make it with 2 more granddaughters, I am sure that they will love it too!!! Thanks for sharing this great recipe!!
Has anyone made this ahead, frozen it, then reheated it at a later time? Did it taste as good??
Is there a way to prepare this for a friend so she can heat it up for dinner after work? What steps do I take and remove? Thank you!
Hi I FOUND YOUR BLOG ON PINTEREST THE RECIPE LOOKED GOOD AND I THHOUGHT TO MYSELF WELL SO MANY PEOPLE ARE REPINNING IT IT MUST BE EXCELLENT IT WAS NOT! IT WAS NOT HORRID BUT NOT AS GREAT AS EVERYONE SEEMS TO BE RAVING ABOUT. I WAS SUPER DISAPOINTED WITH THIS RECIPE MY 7YR SAID IT TASTED PLAIN MY HUSBAND ONLY TOOK 2 BITES AND REFUSED TO EAT ANYMORE . O WELL THANK YOU ANYWAS FOR A NEW RECIPE TO TRY I JUST WISH IT TURNED OUT GOOD.
Found this on Pinerest - made it today and my family thoroughly enjoyed it! I added pepperoni to the top. I will def be adding the recipe to my rotation. I'm not big on spaghetti noodles (though it did not stop me from eating 2 servings of it), I wonder if you could use spiral noodles in this recipe? Thanks for sharing!
I made this dish tonight and everyone loved it, including my picky eaters! I followed the recipe just as printed, however next time I would add more noodles. Thank you so much for the recipe, will definitely be making this again!
My family loved it!
I made this and used country sausage instead of hamburger for added flavor. It was very tasty but I would recommend making more meat sauce and adding another layer after the cheese mixture....it needed more sauce.
Actually it is quite a large dish and can feed way more than 8 people. I worked out all the details and it came out to be around 435 calories per reasonable portion. So you're way off.
